Fragmentos
The diversity of cultural, geographical, and ancestral fragments that shape our identity is boundless. Yiriane Kahn's work arises from the pressing need to explore our roots and tell our story. Thus, immersed in this ongoing flow of intertwined transformations, new fragments take shape.
Through mixed media techniques, Kahn invites us to delve into a captivating play of textures and forms, where a diverse range of materials, such as pure pigment paint, cardboard, cement, walnut stain, imitation gold leaf, and Chinese ink, among others, converge to breathe life into spaces that evoke her Dominican roots, German, French, and Argentine heritage, as well as her Ibero-American present, in a continuous dance between lima and Madrid.
These spaces create a new, amalgamated time of tradition and redefined present. Each piece is a part of Yiriane's history and, at the same time, a fragment, a frozen, static moment of creation.
