MATERIA Y ESPÍRITU
"Matter & Spirit"
The bipersonal exhibition of Yiriane Kahn and Marcelo Peirano at Galería 770 is one more step into the investigation they have been carrying out and whose maturity will finally be appreciated in the middle of this year at La Galería(2018).
They are two artists settled in abstraction, who investigate in a surrealist way, in the psychic automatism, in the accident and the trace of their actions on the canvas. The result is a twist on what Greenberg subsequently pushed into Abstract Expressionism, at a time when new ways of painting succeeded Pollock's dripping. Two memorable artists of that period are Helen Frankenthaler and particularly Morris Louis, a great painter from the West Coast who dripped color into the canvas to create large transparencies on them, which, like tulle, turned each painting into a mystery, due to particularly to a spiritual charge that, in her own way, Yiriane Kahn in a certain way follows.
This exhibition is a counterpoint between matter and spirit. The two expressed through painting in a tireless work through which each artist has expressed that complex inner world. This is possible to envision on these surfaces on which Peirano and Kahn have left a vision of their inner world.
